well well well well well, I just now realized that I have had my lj for a year as of last friday. Man, it doesn't feel like I have been stalking people that long. Of course lately LJ has seemed to take over my life with the emergence of my HP love. I don't even really have time to delve into the Good Omens fandom, which I kinda really want to do.
I guess now is as good a time as any. For a couple months now I have been making a list of all the fanfic I have been reading and posting it as private (I didn't notice till yesterday that one hadn't been marked that, and I am sorry for any confusion that caused). I just keep track of address, title, character/pairings, rating. If it is a reread I'll mark that too. I've found it kind of helpful to have a place I can go and search and see whether or not I have read a certain fic, or what was the last chapter I read. I've also been thinking that maybe I should make it not-private. I wouldn't make it flat-out public, I don't want to spam those of you who actually friended me. But I was thinking maybe make a filter for the people that actually care what I read. Of course I don't know if I want people knowing what I read. I mean it varies quite a bit, ranging from het, to slash, to femme, to gen, to crossover, to XXX, to G, to drabble, to mulichapter-multibook mega projects, and everything inbetween. Mostly I think its only three fandoms so far with a few crosses with others. Mostly it is Harry Potter, Lord of the Ring and a few Good Omens snuck in for good measure. Also I would try and make it clear that these AREN'T RECS. They are just what I read. I could think it the most cracked out thing ever, want to bleach my brain after, and not wish it on my worst enemy, but if I read it, I'll list it. Nor do I think that I will have found some obscure amazing writer since most of what I read I get through reading the comments to the stories I read acutally, and finding people mentioning it or reccing it or comparing this fic to that one or what have you. I am not a discerning reader by any means. I tend to gravitate to certain pairings and topics, and there are days that it will be one sappy fluff after the other, and then maybe a week straight with no fluff in sight. So basically this long ramble is to ask: Anyone interested? Does anyone want to see what I am reading?
P.S. Adrienne, I can't harass you on your journal cause you haven't posted, but BIA, YOU SHOULDA TOLL ME YOUS GOTS WIT DA LJ!
Everyone else please ignore that last bit, it is 6:30am and I didn't sleep last night. |
